Collaborative freelancing is the way to go
04 January, 2010
Some reports are suggesting that freelancers and contractors should join forces and work in collaboration with others in order to produce more effective results.
These collaborative strategies impressed clients who were keen to have reliable groups with specialist skills and set up a good platform for freelancers to exchange business ideas and gather useful information.
With just over 3.25 million currently self-employed people in the UK and more redundancies still expected, collaborative freelancing could be the way to go as figures show that over 8% of private sector turnover is generated by freelancers.
Craig Britton, a freelancer who works as part of a team of likeminded people, has said that working within a network of freelancers was an efficient and cost effective way of operating. He felt that when pitching ideas, he was reassured of a network of people with complementary skills to call upon to complete the task.
Summarised, collaborative freelancing is a relatively new strategy being used by like-minded people who offer complementary or matching skill sets and work under one title or name to provide services.
