Greater savings for freelancers if they shop on-line

02 November, 2009

Recent comments by the experts have suggested that micro-businesses, contractors and freelance consultants could be saving money if they took measures to cut unnecessary spending and shopped on-line.

Founder and CEO of Earthtone - Nader Alaghband, commented on a study by the organization which revealed that many small enterprise operators were declining to make potential savings.

He is reported as saying that micro-businesses have limited budgets and resources, compared to large corporations and it was eye-opening to see that so many of them fail to take advantage of the internet as a way to save money. And he went on to add that the current economic conditions dictate that such operators should take advantage of any available online deals. In collaboration with Harris Interactive. the company’s survey had shown that 20% of micro-businesses never shop for online products. In addition, 40% of SMBs never compared suppliers for ongoing service contracts such as printing and cleaning.

Nowadays it is common knowledge that by shopping online, businesses can save money, find special offers and coupons, as well as enjoy quick and easy ways to buy products or services. It is however quite surprising how few SMEs are using this medium to save money.
